AIKEN, S.C. (December 4, 2023) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the liquid waste contractor at Savannah River Site (SRS), has published its Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) annual report. FY23 ended September 30, 2023.
The annual report highlights FY23 accomplishments within the Liquid Waste Program. Beginning with a message from SRMC President and Program Manager Dave Olson, topics include safety achievements, employee development initiatives, community and education outreach, and milestones in waste retrieval and closure, salt waste processing, and sludge waste processing.
“Our complex mission can be put simply: reduce the risk to people and the environment posed by the radioactive liquid waste stored in aging, underground waste tanks,” Olson said. “This year was another significant step forward in the mission because of our talented team.”
