Savannah River Mission Completion Awards 17 Family Scholarships

AIKEN, S.C. (April 2, 2025) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the Savannah River Site liquid waste contractor, has awarded 17 college scholarships to students who are children of SRMC employees.

Each of these high school seniors received a $4,000 scholarship. The students are attending either four-year institutions or technical schools. The winning applications were selected based on an essay submission, grade point average, and leadership and scholarship achievement.

 

SRMC recognized the awardees at its annual Family Scholarship awards banquet. There were 15 students who received scholarships to 4-year institutions and two who received scholarships to technical schools.

 

Dr. Thomas Burns, Jr., SRMC Chief Engineer, said SRMC appreciates the hard work and dedication of its employees, and the family scholarship program is one way for the company to show our appreciation by providing financial assistance to their children who are pursuing a higher education.

 

“It’s an honor for us to assist these high-achieving students,” Burns said. “It’s another way SRMC works to ensure we are supporting the educational pursuits of some of the smartest, most active students through our employees.”
