The $15,000 grant will support the elementary school’s science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum.

SRMC President and Program Manager Dr. Dave Olson presented the donation to Lamar-Milledge Elementary School Principal Eric Lewis, saying SRMC proudly supports Richmond County schools.

“This donation to Lamar-Milledge Elementary School is an investment in our future,” Olson said. “SRMC strives to reach students in elementary school because the foundation to success starts early, and we want to inspire these students at an early age by providing resources to spark an interest in STEM education.”

Mr. Lewis stated that the donation will provide important STEM resources for Lamar-Milledge Elementary School classrooms.

“Our mission is to create an environment that ensures every student reaches a high level of academic achievement,” Lewis said. “This donation is going directly to the students who need it most and allows the school to delve into the county's science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STE(A)M) Initiative.”

SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
