AIKEN, S.C. (August 30, 2022) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) has awarded four multimillion-dollar subcontracts to perform key engineering support for the Savannah River Site (SRS) liquid waste mission. Among the awardees are locally owned businesses and a woman-owned small business.
The awards are, in total, worth approximately $20 million annually.
Amentum Technical Services, Edgewater Technical Associates, HukariAscendent, and Parvati Government Services were each awarded subcontracts that will provide SRMC with subject matter experts in areas such as engineering and technical support, fire protection engineering, and nuclear safety.
Having these four companies as part of the SRMC team will further enhance the technical capabilities available to SRMC, according to SRMC President and Program Manager Dave Olson.
“These companies represented the best value to Savannah River Mission Completion and the U.S. government to perform our mission of safely reducing the risk to the community and the environment of radioactive liquid waste stored in aging waste tanks,” Olson said. “Working together with these expert services will significantly enhance our mission and our continued success.”
Parvati Government Services – a disadvantaged, woman-owned small business – provides forward-thinking, client-focused solutions for environmental, safety, and health needs.
Amentum Technical Services – a local business – provides engineering, design, complex facility operations, safety management, and environmental services for Amentum’s domestic and international customers.
Edgewater Technical Associates – a local business – provides assistance to organizations performing nuclear and hazardous operations where quality, safety, and regulatory compliance are essential.
HukariAscendent is a technical consulting and engineering company specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical services associated with the nuclear industry and power generation facilities.
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
