AIKEN, S.C. (June 11, 2024) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS), raised $10,696 for Children’s Place Inc., a local United Way agency, during the annual Celebrity Waiter Night fundraiser.

SRMC employees and managers served guests as “celebrity waiters” at Salt & Marrow in North Augusta during the June 4 event.
All donations that were raised will help fund Children’s Place, a therapeutic and behavioral health child and family development center that works to protect, heal, and strengthen children and families from the impact of trauma and other adverse experiences.
SRMC President and Program Manager Dave Olson said that SRMC always strives to be a good neighbor by giving back to the community, especially to help children and families in need.
“Taking time to serve the community is a behavior that SRMC continuously models,” Olson said. “Being able to participate in Celebrity Waiter again this year, alongside other members of the SRMC team, was an experience I will never forget. Thank you to everyone who came out to provide support for this worthwhile cause.”
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
